BIO-OIL

Achievements: Social responsibility

Bio-Oil’s corporate social responsibility program focuses on supporting causes that have sustainable models, benefit those most in need, and where Bio-Oil can play an active role. Although Bio-Oil is involved in many initiatives, below are two examples.

The Red Cross Children’s Hospital

May 2004 saw the start of a compassionate and long-term partnership between Bio-Oil and the Burns Unit of the Red Cross Children's Hospital, the only dedicated paediatric hospital in Southern Africa, with the Burns Unit being one of the busiest in the world.
A bottle of Bio-Oil is donated to every child discharged from the Burns Unit to help improve the appearance of scarring, increase skin elasticity on joints and other high-mobility areas, and to aid severely dehydrated skin.

Look Good… Feel Better

‘Look Good…Feel Better’ is an initiative spearheaded by the global cosmetics industry. This worldwide program centers around teaching beauty techniques and providing cosmetics to cancer sufferers to help them overcome the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Cancer patients often develop very sensitive skin as a result of chemotherapy and radiation treatment, necessitating a change in skincare routine and the avoidance of certain products. Bio-Oil’s emollient properties, together with its vitamins and natural herbal extracts, help enhance the condition of these patients’ skin.
Bio-Oil is donated to ‘Look Good…Feel Better’ so that it may be appropriately distributed to cancer patients.
